Type B plugs are earthed and have two flat parallel pins and a grounding pin. Their unearthed counterparts, Type A 
plugs, have the same two flat parallel pins but no grounding pin.Type A plugs will fit in any Type B socket, but Type B plugs will only fit in Type B sockets.
Type B plugs are used on higher-powered devices and appliances with metal casings.
