Type F plugs are earthed plugs. They have two round pins and side contacts that act as grounding clips. They are used on high-powered devices and appliances with metal casings, while low-power insulated devices, like phone chargers, use Type C plugs. Modern Type F plugs will work in any Type F or Type E
socket. Type C
plugs will also fit in Type F sockets. Type F plugs are known as Schuko plugs, short for Schutzkontakt, the German word for "protective contact."
Type F plugs are used in most of Europe, including Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, and Scandinavia.
